One of the biggest things I learned over the past year is about food and nutrition. My first gravel century ever is next week and I think I’m actually ready! I used The Feed Zone Portables Cookbook from @skratchlabs to come up with my plan - 3000 calories, 64 oz of fluid, and a goal to eat at least every 30 mins.
MidSouth Gravel 2022 - The Weekend that had it all
I first heard of the MidSouth Gravel race a few years ago on Instagram - images of thick clay mud clogging derailleurs and talks of some Bobby guy who gave epic finish line hugs. Honestly, it didn’t register as much of a thing for me - why would I use precious vacation time and hard-earned money to ride my bike in Oklahoma?

Just boarded the bus to Cabo. Made the decision this morning to pull the plug on my ride - my heart just isn’t in this. I had planned to ride today but I really overestimated my ability to ride this many big days in a row, and severely underestimated the desert sun, toll it would take on my body and the emotional weight of being back here.
